Version 1.5.3 Improvements (2009.04.13):
Notes:
Version 1.5.3 picks up where 1.5.2 left off. There are lots of new features (including batch playlist repair), see the change log for more information. Please report any bugs you find!
New Features:
- Batch repairing of playlists!
- Revamped scoring algorithm for closest match detection
- Double-click to select a closest match
- Double-click to open/launch a playlist entry
- Vastly improved Closest Matches screen
- Sortable columns
- Table row tooltips to show the location of a closest match
- MPC added to list of indexed extensions
- Splash screen with description of what's happening during startup
- Alternating table row colors for tables
- Now showing a pop if you attempt to close the app while working on
an unsaved, modified playlist.
- "Help" and "Check For Updates" menu items, take you to the wiki and website respectively
Bug Fixes:
- Hopefully fully completed/fixed UTF-8 support
- Found a fix for the '&' playback bug
- Auto-removing a media directory at startup when it was no longer present didn't remove
all the media library directories under that folder
- JDK 6 Update 10 bug fix for Closest Matches screen
- Fixed serious lag caused by clicking on a missing playlist entry that was on a network drive
- Fill Viewport for all JTables
- Removed Nimbus from the L&F list as we might not be fully compliant yet
- Sped up the remove missing entries operation
- Copy files task was executing twice, once after the progress bar was hidden,
thus causing unresponsiveness
- Huge performance improvement when opening playlists that have entries
pointing to samba shares under windows.
- Now updating the playlist panel after playlist saving or batch repairing operations
- Editing a filename to a missing file didn't break that entry in the UI (as it should've)
Version 1.5.2 Improvements (2008.07.18):
Notes:
There is a known issue with trying to launch an MP3 or M3U from listFix() in Windows when the name of the file contains an ampersand , '&', character. If you find you can't play a file, this is probably the reason why. If your file doesn't contain this character, please file a bug report :)
New feature:
- "Playlists Directory" panel on the left of the UI with integration to open playlist files (double click one), choose a directory to display from the options screen.
Bug Fixes:
- Empty lines in M3U files were being loaded as empty entries.
- Crashing while writing M3U files cased an infinitely busy cursor.
- Saving a list in "relative entries" mode crashed when writing a list that contains a URL.
- The "absolute" file for relative entries was not set correctly, messing with operations on those entries.
- The "empty directory" cache used for speeding up existence queries was being set incorrectly, causing certain files that existed to show as "Not Found".
- User was not prompted/informed when saving a file failed.
- "Find Closest Matches" crashed when operating on an empty media library.
- Fixed M3U8 (UTF-8) support, should be rock solid now.
Version 1.5.1.5 Improvements (2008.06.02):
Notes:
Version 1.5.1.5 is mainly a bug fix release for users of 1.5.1. Please upgrade as soon as possible.
Changes:
- Fixed playlist and file playback bug in XP
- Windows would complain the program "start" could not be found
- Fixed UTF-8 M3U support
- Extra comment lines in UTF-8 M3Us were messing with the M3U parser
- Fixed 2nd run bug
- listFix() would fail to parse its INI file when the user did not choose a look and feel in the options panel the first time the program was run
- Relative playlist opening bug
- Entries with relative references weren't detected as existing when the playlist was first opened
- Fixed a bug where crashing while writing an M3U would result in a zero-byte file
- Fixed a selection bug in the media directory panel
- Allow "find closest matches" on entries that are already found on the file system
Version 1.5.1 Improvements (2008.04.06):
Notes:
If you were previously running version 1.5, please refresh your media library to index the newly supported file types after installation.
Changes include everything from 1.5.1 beta plus...
- An options screen with the following options:
- Save playlists with relative references!!
- Auto-locate playlist entries on load
- Auto-refresh media library on startup
- Number of recent playlists in history
- Look & feel selector
- Collapsable split pane on main screen.
- Now when "save with relative paths" option is off, existing relative file refs in an M3U will be changed to absolute paths.
- Fixed a bug in removing media directories.
- Fixed a bug where adding a media directory that's the parent of an existing entry would cause double indexing and other nasty problems.
Version 1.5.1 Beta Improvements (2008.03.29):
Notes:
If you were previously running version 1.5, please refresh your media library to index the newly supported file types after installation.
Changes:
- Added support for indexing formats other than MP3 (fixed list of formats for now, will make option-enabled soon).
- Renamed classes, variables, and functions to remove the MP3 bias.
- Fixed a bug where file modified marker in the status display wasn't updated when saving the playlist.
- Added support for URLs and for determining the existence of relative file references when already present in an M3U file.
- Relative file refs to files that exist will be written into the M3U file as relative references, otherwise they are stored as absolute after finding them. Still need to add support for saving everything relatively when possible.
- MAJOR overhaul to adding/removing/refreshing media directories.
- Improved progress display by removing the inaccurate progress bar and adding the directory that is currently being scanned (should let us know if reported crashing was really a bug).
- Changed fonts to be more consistent.
- Started moving some code to generics.
Version 1.5 Improvements:
- Rewrote finding algorithms to used cached directory and file lists
- Added several progress bars
- Playlist modified marker in the status bar
- Open/Save dialogs remember your last location
